~~NOTOC~~ ====== IC-7300 Low Receive Signal Strength ====== When I use JS8Call with my IC-7300, I sometimes lower the RF gain so that the program receives the right signal levels. But when I switch back to analog, I sometimes forget to move it back up. Today during the net, I found some of the signal reports were pretty asymmetrical and I wondered if something similar might be happening to other people. So here are two ways to lower the receive signal strength on the IC-7300: ===== Baseline ===== With everything adjusted properly, my noise floor was S2: {{ :blog:2025-01-01:01.jpg?400 }} ===== RF/SQL ===== When ''RFG'' is displayed on the screen, it means the ''RF/SQL'' nob is too far to the left. Press the ''P.AMP ATT'' button to turn it off. See [[https://mans.io/files/viewer/529465/37 |p.4-3 of the manual]] for more details. {{ :blog:2025-01-01:02.jpg?400 }} ~~DISCUSSION~~
